The best one

Brilliant
I'd feel sorry for the cellist tho haha
every note was put to good use
the cadenza was great and 4:07 is just amazing
and then 4:21
not much else i can say that i havent already told u
Great job on this masterpiece Rocky

-Winter

c minor wins

MusicalRocky responds:

So you're actually deciding between this one and the first mvnt? lol
Yeah I think I like this one a lil better too.

Yeah the cellist has it rough :( But I felt everything was fitting for the piece, I didn't just throw stuff in to make it be hard (other than in the cadenza, of course).

4:07 is berry cool, yep, that whole C section actually, I enjoy very much.

Fanks man. Idk about masterpiece. Maybe MY masterpiece lol.

Yes C minor does own, though not as much as D minor.

-Rocky

very nice

also, if u set the visualizer to the angryfaic
it looks like he's about to cry
cuz ur music is so beautiful!
lol

i love the transition into the relative minor (your favorite key!)
and afterwards you go back to f major very nice.
congratulations on winning my friend

-Winter

MusicalRocky responds:

Lol you're right he does look like he's gonna shed a tear.

Yep, d minah my favourite lol, and yep, it's ternary form, so back to F major.

thanks man, congrats on placing twice again lol (and tying with simon)

well we both know simon's owns mine anyway, but I guess it wasn't as lullabyish.

Rocky

Stravinsky indeed

u really picked up on Stravinsky's dance style in some parts of ur song from his Danse Infernale. Awesome dude
Definite eerie feel to this song.
the reoccurring Eb D F E motif is nice and used appropriately.
i hate when people compare music like this to video games
its almost demeaning
anyways keep it up

-winter

MusicalRocky responds:

Yep, Stravinsky...especially in the 5/4 theme. I really didn't mean to but w/e. lol

I liked the Eb D F E motif cause it brought a togetherness to the piece.

Lol yeah. Stupid vg music. VG music is vg music. it's a different breed than standalone tracks, don't compare dem >: (

anyways thanks

Rocky

I forgot how great this was

I was surprised to see how much i remembered the storyline behind this
I listened a second time jjust now while following the text.
its hilarious
This is great, i can pretty much understand every section now
u should do another

-winter

MusicalRocky responds:

Yeah I like dis 1. Lol.

The text was hilarious to write. But I mainly had it all planned as I wrote the music.

Lol yeah I should do another. I should do Triangle vs. Snare Drum. Oh snaps.

eereh

got spine-chilling-like wen u moved up in the higher register
very nice my friend

comment/response below me made me laff

-winter

MusicalRocky responds:

Yeah, that's my favorite part (TRI-PULL-ITS!!) lol

haha yeah. I love responding like that, especially to people who give me a 5 for no reason.

Maestro

So you decided to finish it off as a remix
Nice move ;]
0:34 was the best recollection from the POTC theme
Great job on not taking too much from the original
yet enough to generally get the same feel from it.
Only thing to complain was the snare roll like at 0:58
it sounds really untouched and rough.
It cut through really hard
it also cuts off very sharp. It's most apparent at 1:30
Cant wait to hear a full length electronic song from you in the future!
great start maestro

-Winter

MaestroRage responds:

heh, trying to stand beside Hans Zimmer in terms of classical orchestration would be murder :(. The man would kill me in his sleep while i'm on another continent, no problem.

That segment was indeed the truest part of the theme. It had to be, or the remix becomes too arbitrary to really be a remix, imo.

The snare rolls later on are indeed horrible. I can't edit the song anymore, so i'll have to resubmit when I make an extended version, which won't be for a while longer i'm afraid!

Thanks a lot Winter, coming from you thats a real compliment! Thank you for the review!

Sorry for the late response :D

Symphony

Nice piece here
I see a good attempt at creating a theme and setting up variations on it
but the way its set up as a whole was a bit confusing and unexpecting.
in your future movements, try to add a timpani part
i really liked the woodwin portion around 1:00 it really caught my attention.
Not sure, but it sounds like you ended all your instruemnts in unison C
it sounds strong but using the chord (c minor) in its full entirety would make it seem more full and forceful
Waiting for the other movements :]

-Winter

bvncbvnc responds:

yep I used alot of octave intervals, I really need to work on thematic development, it is not my strong suit though Il probally take the second melodic theme and have it reappear later. Thanks for the review and tips

solemn

yet another submission from the maestro
very great piece, i could see this potentially in the CC game
I'm not too sure which part of the game you composed this specifically for but I could take a few guesses where it would fit just fine.
loops nicely as well
great job maestro
dont forget to check out my third submission!

-Winter

MaestroRage responds:

ah, hello Winter! Thank you for dropping by! This piece in particular was made as a game over theme. I don't think it would be usable anywhere else to be honest. Perhaps a sad level? Burnt town?

Your third is a well made Winter. A comical piece in a sea of anger and sorrow. I'm glad you made it. I hope the best for it and yourself in the contest!

Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it!

very nice

Hey Orr
Great piece here. The way you accented the beats you did here made me second guess the time signature of the piece haha. I was thinking along the lines of a measure of 12/8 followed by a single measure of 2/4.
The melody is indeed very nice and large scale. I loved the soft portion of the piece which was a nice break from the intense battle section.
The thing is, it seems a bit too serious for a comical battle game. My first thoughts of this song was like, a Metal Gear game, which would b perfect for a track like this.

Great quality, definitely one of the better submissions I've heard so far.
Good luck :]

-Winter

DavidOrr responds:

Hey Winterwind

Thanks! I dunno- I think Castle Crashers is a pretty comical game and all, but they tended to use pretty serious music in their trailers, so I tried to gear the piece towards what I knew they were using.

See you on the battlefield!

Don't talk to Strangers.
