Posted by Winterwind-NS - January 22nd, 2008

HEY

i put two videos on youtube

Me playing my Prelude no. 6 in F Minor 'For a Story yet to Begin', L'angoisse Romantique (a piece not on newgrounds), and then Prelude no. 8 in C minor 'Last Snowfall'

and

Me playing Franz Liszt's Liebestraum no. 3 in Ab major 'Love Dream'

Sorry about the small mess ups in the recordings. It was quite early

New Yorker Here,

I've heard most of your music thus far, and I sincerely love a very good portion of it.

Some of it sounds exactly just like Chopin and his works, which is always good.
He's had his ways since he composed like he was WAAAY ahead of his time- not to mention John Field (Ireland), the first composer of the Nocturnes a tad bit before Chopin's time.

I, myself, am more of a lover of Romantic music. Not to say that I shun the Classicals- Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Bach, etc., because I've studied their works as well. And, as classicaly trained (former pianist turned violinist for 18 years) it's even more to say that we wouldn't be here without them nor without their legendary pieces that made them who they are.

If you can, I would like to see the score for your violin concerto since I am searching for new violin repertoire.

I'm currently sight reading Stojowski's Concerto op. 33 in C, and Castelnuovo-Tedesco's Concerto #2 "il Profetti" until I can find one to study and learn right after my previous ones (Bruch #2 and Barber).

Also if you need a violinist to give you an insight of your pieces, don't hesitate to PM me/contact/email/ etc. I'd be more than happy to give you my thoughts/suggestions/comments- anything.

Thanks for taking the time to reading this. As of now, I'm taking a sabbatical in college to help my family through rough times.

Otherwise, I've still keeping an eye on performers in Lincoln Center to see whether or not Maxim Vengerov comes back to shock us all with another dazzling performance- just like he did 3 years ago in Montreal performing Britten's Violin Concerto in D Minor, op. 15, a work rarely touched, but recorded by him with Rostropovich and the L.S.O. last year.

Keep in touch

... odd
how did you know I composed a violin concerto?
I'll be PMing you very soon

omg you're lucky to see Maxim live
I have seen a masterclass of him teaching some people
and I have a CD of him playing a few Niccolo Paganini and Henryk Wieniawski pieces.

Hey man - for some reason your newer tunes aren't showing up on your audio submissions page? I'm only seeing 3 here for 2008 when I know I've heard more submitted this year from you... maybe this problem is just on my end. I can still get to all of your new songs but having a quick easy way to browse through them is nice

yeh i had like two trance songs I didnt like so i deleted them
thats odd that you can still view them...
